Pinterest is an amazing platform used to save ideas, find information, get inspired, reach thousands of people, and so much more. A newer feature that is available (for free) is the business account option. If you have a blog, a YouTube channel, sell products online, etc. then you can use Pinterest to your advantage. You can share your posts, find similar posts, and ultimately get more online traffic. Using Pinterest to get online traffic is proven to work for big and small bloggers, businesses, etc.

Let’s talk about why it is important to create or upgrade your Pinterest account into a business account. If you have a personal account, you can upgrade it or create a new one as your business account. Which ever option you choose is fine. If you’re looking for more traffic, then it’s important to use Pinterest. It’s an amazing opportunity offered by this platform and what I love about it is the fact that people who don’t follow you can still see your posts. Let’s say you have a small blog and you manage a Facebook page for that blog… to get anyone to see your page, you would have to pay to promote posts, invite friends, and constantly share hoping that someone sees it. With Pinterest, thousands of people can reach your post and all you did was post one time!

The number one reason you should have a business account is because your personal account will not show you the analytics of your pins. If you want more traffic then you absolutely need to see the analytics to be able to see what pins are doing good, what pins aren’t generating clicks, and so on.

All and all, I recommend getting a Pinterest Business account if you’re looking for traffic, views, readers, or if you like running ads. Keep in mind that if you convert your personal account over, you can not change it back from a business account! I did this and had no idea about that fact so I recommend starting a new account. You should also know that if you upgrade your personal account, you don’t have to worry about existing pins. All of the pins you had saved will still be there after you upgrade.

I hope this helps!
Sincerely Bailey
